Morning Coffee (11/11/08)

Good morning, and happy Veterans Day. It is also (not coincidentally) the ninetieth anniversary of Armistice Day. My New York Times home delivery started today, which I didn't expect because of the holiday, so that's exciting. Because of Veterans Day, the legislature is not holding any meetings today.

National Update: President-Elect Obama met with President Bush at the White House yesterday. He reportedly asked the President to provide help for the struggling auto industry. Michelle Obama got a tour of the White House residence from Laura Bush and started touring DC schools. They are reportedly considering Sidwell Friends (where Chelsea Clinton was a student). There's a lot of talk about what restaurants, gyms, etc. the Obama family will frequent. Malia and Sasha are Hannah Montana fans, and they have been invited to appear on the show. Republicans are competing for leadership of their party; the Republican Governors Association meeting this week should be interesting.
